Accessory
Fume extractor
A filtered fan unit that removes laser smoke and odours when venting outdoors isn't possible.
Which machines it fits
Universal — works with every machine we cover.
Why it matters
Laser smoke contains fine particles and volatile compounds that shouldn't be breathed in. The best fix is venting outside. Where that isn't possible, a fume extractor pulls air through several filter stages and returns it to the room. It is also the cleanest setup for enclosed machines in apartments.
What to look for
- Multi-stage filtration: a pre-filter, a HEPA particulate filter and an activated carbon stage for odours
- Airflow suited to your machine or enclosure volume
- Availability and lifespan of replacement filters
- Duct size that matches your enclosure or machine port
Frequently asked questions
Fume extractor or inline fan?
An inline fan venting outside is cheaper and more effective. Use a fume extractor when you can't vent outside.
How often do filters need replacing?
It depends on use and materials. Wood and leather load filters quickly. Follow the manufacturer's guidance and replace the carbon stage when smells return.
