Accessory
Air assist pump + nozzle
Blows a steady stream of air at the laser spot for cleaner cuts, less charring and a cleaner lens.
Which machines it fits
Universal — works with every machine we cover.
Why it matters
Without air assist, smoke stays in the cut and absorbs part of the beam, and small flames scorch the edges. A focused air stream clears the kerf, cools the edges and keeps smoke off the lens. For cutting plywood, MDF or acrylic it makes a bigger difference than a small bump in laser power.
What to look for
- A nozzle designed for your laser module, so the air hits the focal point
- Adjustable airflow: high for cutting, low or off for fine engraving
- Noise level, especially if you work at home
- Hose length and routing that won't snag on the gantry
Frequently asked questions
Should air assist be on for engraving?
Usually low or off. Strong airflow can blow dust into fine detail. Turn it up for cutting.
Can I use a workshop compressor?
Yes, with a regulator and a water trap. Most people use the dedicated pump because it is quieter and simpler.
